During the summer, we adopt an activity-based program, spending more time in socialization                                    and play than we do during the rest of the year.  However, that doesn’t mean we won’t be learning new Bible stories or spending time in God’s word!  In addition to our activity time, we will enjoy snack and the Right Now Media resource “Friends and Heroes.”  The Bible comes alive with this epic story from an award-winning team. Friends and Heroes follows the adventures of two friends – Macky and Portia – as they fight for justice and survival against the power of the Roman Empire!

Starting time is 7:00 and we are finishing by 8:00. Children from age 3 through the 5th grade are welcome.  Make plans now to have your children join in on the adventure!

Acts of Random Kindness Kids (ARKK)

“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”                                                                                                                 1 Corinthians 11:1

ARKK stands for Acts of Random Kindness Kids.  Our group does acts of random kindness for people in our church and community.  This is a youth program for all ages from 3 thru 18 years old.  We meet the last Sunday of each month during Junior Church.  ARKK runs from January through October.  We take a break in November and December. ARKK began in 2016 as a way to help our youth think of others and what their needs are and how we can serve them.  We want to do these acts, not for our own personal recognition, but to put a smile on someone’s face and share God’s love with others through small acts of kindness.

Class begins with a prayer and devotional time; we do a project together; we have snack time; and if time permits, we may play a game.  Since 2016 the kids have donated to a different organization or group of people each month. Just to name a few we have helped over the years: the kids have made cards for shut-ins, have handed out treats to our church congregation, have filled lunchboxes with goodies for Project Share, have filled purses for women at Safe Harbour, have collected food for BSA Food Bank, have collected coins for the John Graham Public Library, and have collected sheets and old towels for Molly’s Place Rescue

Operation Christmas Child

The ARKKids are collecting shoebox items again from now until October.  Our goal is 75 boxes!  Please check your bulletin to see which items we are collecting each month.  Thanks for helping with this vital ministry.
